AI Act audit
The European AI regulation has applied in stages since February 2025.
The obligations on high-risk systems have been in force since August
2026, and the fines go up to €35 million or 7% of worldwide turnover.
Many companies still do not know which category their systems fall
into.
The audit answers that question first, then measures what is
missing.
Three common situations
You embed AI in your product
Language model, scoring, recommendation, computer vision: the qualification depends on the precise use and on your role, provider or deployer. Two neighbouring uses can land in different categories.
Your clients require it
Buyers and tenders now ask for system classification and governance evidence. A ready file shortens the sales cycle.
You target the European market
The regulation reaches providers established outside the Union as soon as their systems are used within it. Better to know the cost of entry before investing.
Fifteen business days, four steps
Inventory
A census of the AI systems deployed or planned, with their uses, their data and the company's role for each: provider, deployer, importer or distributor.
Classification
Qualification of each system under the regulation, prohibited practice, high-risk, transparency obligation or general-purpose model, justified article by article.
Gap analysis
The applicable requirements compared with the current state: risk management, data governance, technical documentation, logging, human oversight.
Compliance plan
A dated, ranked plan, executable by your teams or by ours, with the expected evidence at each step.
The deliverables
Written, dated documents your teams, your advisers and your clients can all use. They remain yours.
- AI system register: the complete inventory, ready to present.
- Classification matrix: each system's qualification, justified article by article.
- Gap analysis: what is missing, where, and the risk carried as things stand.
- Compliance plan: dated, costed and ranked by risk.
- Governance note: roles, responsibilities and AI literacy for your teams (Article 4).
- ISO 42001 option: preparation of the AI management system for certification.
Pricing. The audit is quoted in detail, from CA$14,000 depending on the number of systems and the depth of integration. A written preliminary assessment opens the engagement (CA$2,200 (plus taxes), delivered within five business days); its price is credited against the audit.
Describe your AI systems
A few lines are enough for the preliminary assessment, which establishes the classification and the priorities.
